Agate geode gemstones appear to be nothing but ordinary rocks on the outside, but take a quick peek inside and you'll surely be amazed at the stunning growth and clusters of chalcedony quartz crystals. Geodes are rock cavities or vugs with internal crystal formations or concentric banding. Geodes vary when it comes to the volume, or amount, of crystal growth; specimens that developed with fuller formations are considered especially rare and very valuable. Agate geodes are highly sought-after by gemstone, rock and mineral collectors.
